Jay Yao started in the Hong Kong film industry in 1999. Since 2003, he has entered the Singapore film and video industry, where he has held various roles such as assistant director, art assistant, location scout, and technical crew. 

Now, Jay is a familiar name in the photography scene. His works include “Location Singapore” book for Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) which he also produced the video version of the book. He was also the photographer for the Hong Kong movie “The White Storm” featuring A-listed Hong Kong movie stars.

As an experienced producer, Jay has produced numerous television commercials, branding videos, and promo videos. One of which includes the 'Love Matters' movie directed by Jack Neo/ Gilbert Chan, which grossed more than $3 million in Singapore and Malaysia. Always motivated with fresh ideas, Jay continues to pursue his passion for the visual medium, producing and co-directing TVC and shooting for international brands such as Canon, Sony, Discovery Channel, among many others.
