At GEMS Wellington International School your child will experience a highly effective and inclusive environment that will inspire them to achieve and succeed. Our school offers a unique structure for students to support their education through the model of a Lower, Middle, and Upper School. With this, students will journey from FS1 to Year 4 in our Lower School focusing on learning through play and active learning in our bespoke ‘Learning Zones’ which help students develop their creativity, motor skills, STEAM understanding, and digital awareness, truly engaging and exciting them about learning and the wider world.
The transition into Middle School in Year 5 sees students developing their independence and critical thinking skills through a tailored curriculum taught by core specialist teachers, including secondary specialists who focus on enhancing the curriculum across Year 5 and Year 6, making a seamless transition into Year 7. Throughout Middle School, we continue to embed High-Performance Learning (HPL) through carefully planned lessons that incorporate the 5 Advanced Cognitive Performance Characteristics (ACPs) and are identified as the following skills: Meta-cognition, Linking, Realizing, Creating, and Analyzing.
